![]() You should get a 10.6.8 installer disk as earlier ones may not work (too much effort IMO) - Apple restrict what minor OS release can be installed, so 10.6.3 or 10.6.5 probably won't work. The MacbookPro8,2 can run 10.6.8 upto Sierra or 10.7.2 upto Sierra (2 models had that number, the Early & Late 2011 MBP)įrankly if you can run Sierra you may as well run that unless you have specific reasons to hunt out a copy of 10.6.8 etc. This lists older models that support internet recovery (after a firmware update which has probably been applied by now).Ĭomputers that can be upgraded to use OS X Internet Recovery - Apple Support Internet recovery installs the version that shipped with the Mac (with it's security fixes). I have checked via terminal that PRAM lists disk3 states Recovery HD and rebooted again still unable to find partition. Tried to erase and reinstall OS X 10.7 my macbook pro,but it failed,it says i cant install on my recovery disk,and i cant partition my hard drive.
